Community

We’re very much a community-focussed team, passionate about giving something back.

Over the years we’ve been involved with a range of charities and events in various different capacities. John is currently a director of two excellent charities supporting people with learning disabilities, The Next Step Trust and Access Hospitality CIC. He’s also a director of Calderdale Community Energy, which aims to support energy efficiency and renewable energy schemes in our region.

Pennine Magpie - John was a director from 2002 – 2016

Pennine Magpie's aim is to improve the lives of people who have learning difficulties by providing the skills needed to lead more independent and fulfilling lives.

The Next Step Trust – John has been a director from 2006 – present

Established in 2006 to support adults with learning disabilities and complex health needs. It's objective is to provide a comprehensive day service provision along with other services as required by the individuals we support, particularly for young adults in Calderdale.

Calderdale Community energy – John has been a director from 2016 – present

Other charitable events

We also support other charitable events in our communities including:

Stainsby Music Festival where Jane runs the festival site and Mary and John look after the volunteers. In 2018, to celebrate the 50 th festival, we made cream teas for 200 volunteers in a field.
